Do i need a reservation?

We do welcome walk-ins, however...making a reservation guarantees we have a table all ready for you when you come in. We fill up super fast on Saturdays & Sundays & holidays, and there may not be a spot open when you drop in. We will do our best to get everyone in to paint, and if you reach us by phone before you head to our studio, we'll set aside a spot for you and your group. Voicemails and online messages do not qualify as a reservation unless you hear back from us to confirm.

Do i need a to keep my receipt?

Yes, our customers are 100% responsible for keeping and bringing their receipt and a photo of their painted pieces in for pickup. Your receipt is your pickup slip with your official pickup date, and your pictures are how we help you find the correct piece. Without the receipt and photo, we have no way of knowing which items you're looking to pickup. If you think you might lose the receipt, we suggest taking a picture of the receipt. Please also keep in mind that if you send someone who was not painting with you to pickup your items, they NEED to have a photo of your items AND the receipt or else they will not be able to pick up your items..  

How much does it cost to paint a piece of pottery at your store?

It depends on what piece you choose to paint. We have pottery ranging from $10 to $60. We don’t charge extra for using paints/supplies, or for your time if you finish the same day you start your piece. We have over 100 items to choose from in our studio with a price to fit anyone's budget. 

What if you’re not an artist?

Everyone is an artist at Painted Plate! Come in with an idea and we can help you make it happen, or if you're in need of inspiration we have tons of painted samples and design ideas to spark your imagination. Our friendly staff is always on hand to give you as much or as little help as you need in painting your work of art. We also have a huge collection of tracing designs, stencils, and other neat tricks that we love to share.

Is your pottery safe to eat off of?

Yes! Our pottery is 100% lead free and is both microwave and dishwasher safe.

What happens if I get paint on my clothes?

Don’t worry if you get our paint on anything. It comes right off with water.

Can I have a party at The Painted Plate?

Yes, you can! Do you want to book a kids birthday party? An office party? A fun girls night out? A bridal shower or bachelorette party? Something fun for the grown-ups? Give us a call at 360-705-2103 to make a reservation!

Each party is given a 2-hour window to celebrate. We have the party animal package for kids parties of 6+ painters, and a special adult party package for 10+ Adults. You can pre-order beverages, party platters, and ice cream when you make your reservation to make your day as fun and easy as possible.

Deposits are required for parties/events of 7 or more.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

The deposit is how we reserve the space for your group. The deposit is applied to your party on the date of your event. Deposits are nonrefundable when a party cancels less than 24 hours from the date of their event, a party has less people than reserved for, or a party doesn't show up. Call us if you have an emergency!

How long before I can pick up my finished pottery?

The turnaround is 5-7 days. At check out, we will give you a pick-up slip with your pick up date! If you can’t come into the store on that date, no worries. We hold pieces on our pick-up shelf for up to 30 days.

What if i don't finish my project?

Not a problem! We have two options for you. The easiest option is to take your unfinished pottery home with you and bring it back to our studio whenever you have time to finish. The other option is to leave it with us as a Work In Progress, and you'll have 7 days to come back to finish it.

Do you ship finished pieces?

We do not, but we are happy to provide re-purposed bubble wrap and boxes when we have them!

I want to give my friend a painting session as a surprise. Do you sell gift cards?

Absolutely! All you need to do is drop by the store, tell us the amount you want to give, and we will give you a gift card that never expires! It can be applied to the cost of painting and beverages/food/ice cream. Or you can click here to purchase a gift card online.

How long does it take?

That all depends on you! The more detailed the design, the more time you’ll need to finish. Usually, it takes about 2 hours to finish a painting project. Due to our limited studio space, painting sessions are limited to 2 hours on our busy weekends & holidays. If your project is more detailed or you have adorable kiddos who need to take a break and stretch their legs, you can always have us hold your piece as a Work In Progress and join us Monday through Thursday (we're open until 9pm).

What sort of specials do you have?

The best way to keep track of our specials is by checking our Facebook or Instagram page! We will always post when our fun specials are occurring. Depending on the time of year, we have special parent/child art escapes, date nights, and seasonal specials. Be sure to ask us about our Frequent Painter Program!
